About us

Sparks began in 1996, initially offering a mix of publishing services, web design, software training, IT support and telecommunications consultancy. We took on our first employee in 1997, focusing on publishing and multimedia services, and became a limited company in 1999. Over the next few years, the company grew to seven members of staff. In 2007 the publishing side of the business was relaunched as Sparks Publishing Services Ltd.

Over the years, Sparks has built a reputation for competence, speed and reliability, allowing us to win both long-term repeat business from our clients and word-of-mouth recommendations to key decision makers in other publishing companies.

Sparks aims to be socially and environmentally responsible. Long before carbon neutrality became fashionable, Sparks began planting trees on behalf of our clients every Christmas instead of sending corporate gifts. In this way we have contributed towards the establishment and upkeep of two areas of woodland in Oxfordshire managed by the Woodland Trust. We make regular donations to several other charities, including Oxfam, Amnesty International, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Sport Aid Relief for Kids. In addition, we designed and maintained free of charge the website of the International Cancer Information Services Group for several years.

Sparks Publishing Services Ltd manages approximately 30 books each year, plus regular journal and magazine issues.
